6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV

Who are we?

Rooted Homeschool Co-op is an Evangelical Christian based, all volunteer, parent involvement, non-profit organization. We serve all ages.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Rooted crew! Whether your family has been with us for years or is brand new, we want you to know that we are excited to have you with us. We look forward to journeying together in learning, growth, collaboration, and community.

If you’ve been with us before, you’ve probably noticed that our group is undergoing a few changes, namely, a bit of rebranding. This group was previously called “The Grants Pass Homeschool Co-op”. We have chosen to change our name to “Rooted” in order to clarify our focus and cause our group to be easier to recognize in the great sea of home educating resources.

At Rooted, our most important value is to be rooted in Christ. It is our desire to honor Him, and therefore each other, in all of our decisions and interactions. He will be the Center and guide for all we do. We are implementing an optional chapel time to begin each Friday morning with the opportunity to pray for one another and worship the Lord together before we dive into classes.

Because such a large part of loving God is loving each other, we want for this homeschool cooperative to be more than just a place for classes. We long to see true and lasting friendships built, families strengthened and encouraged, and for this group to resemble a family as we grow together.

In order to facilitate this, we encourage “Meetings between the meetings”—checking in on one another, enjoying lunch and free time together after classes (as the weather holds), as well as a variety of social gatherings and field trips outside our normal gatherings.

Two of our other core values are to be rooted in family and education. Therefore, we seek to provide a variety of classes for all age groups of children, allow for great creativity in class offerings, and depend on parents (and students, too!) as the teachers and volunteers. This is also why we are not a drop-off program, but require that a parent be present at each Friday meeting with their children.

As a cooperative, each family, and each individual, brings something special and needful to the group. Thank you, for choosing to take part in this journey together. With your help, this is going to be a great year!

With blessings and anticipation,

Your Rooted Homeschool Co-op Board

Interested in Joining Process

The Board will review all membership applications (We have limited capacity)

  • Previous families (not on homeschool life) will need to fill out our interested in joining form.
  • New families fill out our interested in joining form
  • You will be contacted if a spot opens up that would accommodate your family.
    • If you do not sign up we will move to the next in line. (you have 7 days)

  • The following factors will be considered in ordering the waitlist:
      • the date the application was received
      • the age of the children in the family
        • (families with older children are given priority over those with younger children because younger children will have more opportunities to participate in the future as opposed to a high school student, for example)
      • number of children in the family, and any special needs that have been identified.

  • If membership is denied due to the Co-op reaching capacity (limited by church space and insurance), that family will be kept on the waitlist for one school year and contact the following summer for Fall registration.

Membership Documents & Annual Membership Fees

Participation

  • Membership Cost: Family Membership registration fee $135 per homeschool year (September to May). This fee covers insurance for the group, as well as incidental administrative fees. Paying the full amount upfront helps reduce the workload for our Treasurer, as we volunteer our time to support the co-op. We understand that this may not be feasible for all families, so we encourage you to reach out to our Treasurer to arrange a payment plan. This will also streamline the payment process, ensuring timely billing.

  • Required background check $25.00 on all regularly attending adults every 2 years. It's also required of teachers and volunteers that do not have enrolled students.

  • Co-op registration fees are non-refundable, if you are unable to attend that money will be put into the scholarship fund. Background check fee may be refunded if the background check has not been processed. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the board.

  • The co-op isn't a drop off program. A parent/guardian needs to be on site at all times. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to know where their kids are at all times.
